Some Kinda Mischief

A fascinating concept, this piece has a layering of interesting texture and design. The original marquetry image of ravens was overlaid with beautiful koa veneer. The veneer was then carved through to reveal the charismatic ravens. The greater density of carving strokes at the edge of the birds allows one to see the detail of the imagery while giving a feathery look to the image.
