Spencer Horn

Spencer in his workshop

Spencer Horn is a studio furniture maker in Seattle, Washington. Growing up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, he was inspired from an early age by the quiet elegance of Southern architecture and furnishings.

While working on a degree in product design at North Carolina State University, he took several furniture making classes in the summer at Penland School of Crafts in the Appalachian Mountains. There, it was his good fortune to study under the woodworking masters including Tage Frid and Sam Maloof, thus acquiring furniture making skills unequaled from other sources.

His specialty is making traditionally influenced pieces using solid construction and the finest hand selected materials. His work is in private collections throughout the country.
