Tansu Step Chest Dresser

63 × 22 × 68 in

The classic Asian tansu step chest design has been updated for use in today’s home. Gone are the metal plates, but handmade warabi pulls made in Japan are used. This dresser is made of Sapele for the case work, mappa burl in a four quarter book-matched pattern for the drawers and doors, and sapele pommele for the panels. The top two tiers are doors and the interior is cedar lined.

This piece can be broken down into two separate units for easier movement into tight spaces.
