The title 'STRETCHED' refers to the tessellated marquetry (tiled) pattern of hand sawn veneer on the top of this decorative table that has been distorted and morphed to reflect the structure of the four arms that support the top from underneath. The intent of this is to integrate the top and bottom into one organic object wherein each of its parts are informing/interacting with each other. The bottom of the table is tiled as well and each of the over 3,000 tiles are unique shapes.
