This is a multi-use table that can also be used as a desk. Oregon Black walnut is used for this piece and the top is a 12 quarter book-matched pattern. Ebony is used for the beading on the apron, and the inlay diamonds on the legs. This table/desk has a drawer that is 24” wide, 14” deep, and 2” high
Ebony is a heavy wood generally jet black in color with variable gray streaks. It is durable, works nicely and its rich color and it is often used in musical instruments.
A burl is a natural growth that can be found on any number of trees. Burls yield a very peculiar and highly figured wood. These are highly valued and sliced into veneers for furniture, inlay, automobile interior paneling and trim.
Found in Northern California and Oregon, claro walnut is highly figured with a rich brown color and striking grain patterns, especially in the crotch areas, where large limbs meet the trunk.
