This Desk features fabulous woods with authentic Craftsman Greene and Greene style detailing and many wonderful features. The top is made from a single piece of thick Koa that was split in half and then book matched to make the top. The Koa has wonderful color and curly figure. The Oregon walnut panels are made with a series of sequential boards that had great color and curly figure. The desk is detailed throughout with Greene and Greene design elements and detailing using ebony. The storage drawers all have hand cut dovetails. The file drawers are 24” deep with built in hanging files. There are two secret drawers that come out when slightly depressed. There is a modesty panel on the front of the desk. The Craftsman style chair is made with matching Koa and similarly detailed.

Ebony is a heavy wood generally jet black in color with variable gray streaks. It is durable, works nicely and its rich color and it is often used in musical instruments.

Koa is found only on the Hawaiian Islands and is much prized for its beautiful iridescent wood that is reddish brown with dark black or brown lines. The great depth of figure makes it ideal for use in musical instruments, fine furniture and jewelry boxes.

Found in Northern California and Oregon, claro walnut is highly figured with a rich brown color and striking grain patterns, especially in the crotch areas, where large limbs meet the trunk.
