Northwest Fine Woodworking
Grady Mathews

As one of the founders of NW Fine Woodworking this is a time for celebration as
well as reflection. Thirty years ago we were looking to create an outlet for our work.
We have done that and so much more. As the nation’s longest running and most
successful furniture co-op we have created an environment where new generations
can carry on the craft, and art, of furniture making. We owe our success not only to
the incredible artists whose work we exhibit, but to our patrons who have come to the gallery to enjoy, learn about and support what we do. Thank you all.
Northwest Fine Woodworking
It is always my intention to be a steward of the materials I use in my furniture, that I neither waste this precious resource physically or esthetically. I always try to design pieces that create and hold interest without being overbearing. I want the pattern, color and texture of the wood I use in each creation to shout out “Look at my beauty”, while the design elements whisper the same. The Santos Rosewood in this piece has done its part; I hope I have done mine.
