Being a member of this cooperative and elite group of craftspersons for almost 30
years has been very rewarding, even humbling at times. As I work alone in my shop, I know there is a collective presence that will never fail to inspire and give meaning to my travails.

This chest of drawers is probably a little smaller but proportioned after a piece built around 1750 and attributed to John Townsend that I was immediately drawn to from a 1995 issue of “Home Furniture” The detailing is different but the joinery is probably very similar . The drawers run on frames that attach to and stabilize the sides using tapered sliding dovetails.

My forte is still solid construction furniture with all the challenges that it imposes using tradition based designs as a means of bridging generations of a timeless craft.
